Inside the Fall/Winter 2013 Issue of Arkansas Bride

I love this issue of Arkansas Bride.

Yes, I know. I say something along those lines every edition, but I truly fall hard for each and every one.

Each season we work tirelessly to bring you this 182-page collaboration of unique ideas, trusted vendors and expert advice — and we can’t help but get a little attached.

We’re especially fond of our fashion focus this issue: timeless bridal style spotlighting silhouettes and accessories you’ll never regret wearing decades later. And what better place to photograph these fashions than at the stately Governor’s Mansion?

I was surprised first by the governor and Mrs. Mike Beebe’s big-hearted welcome into their home, and again by their continued generosity while we bustled around the grounds. So I must give a special thank-you to them and their accommodating mansion administrator, Ron Maxwell. We couldn’t have pulled it off without him. Oh, and I can’t forget Viper, the governor’s sweet German Shepherd, who gallantly modeled for us! It was all I could do to not put him on the cover.

Beyond the fashion spread, you’ll find several new treats. Two things in particular that I’m very proud of are the new tablescape pages within our Florals & Décor section and our three new trend pages, themed for this particular issue around essential “Southern Graces.” These newbies shine a light on Arkansas’ most talented wedding professionals: creative florists and event designers, hidden-gem boutiques and gift registry destinations. You’ll love working with all of them.

Finally, I want to tell you about something super special: Inside this issue, you’ll find our first-ever Groom’s Guide. It’s a magazine just for your man (or his mom) to help him navigate his role in the wedding — from rehearsal dinner etiquette and venues to toasting tips, wedding band advice, bachelor party planning and more. You can tear it out of this issue and give it to him or your future mother-in-law, or read it together.

Like I said. I love this issue. There’s so much to discover and enjoy inside, so please do!

P.S.: We answered your most burning question (the one we’re asked about once a week by readers) — “Where are the best places to shoot bridals and engagements in Arkansas?”

Find the answer here.

Best wishes,
