Hot Springs natives Katy Tripp and Corey Montgomery are engaged to be married Sept. 29 at the Fordyce-Ricks Estate in Hot Springs. Congratulations!
The night of Dec. 15, 2011, Katy thought Corey was Christmas shopping. In reality, Corey had gone to [the bride’s parents’] house to ask for their permission to marry Katy. The next night, Corey attended Katy’s graduation ceremony at Henderson State University. After the ceremony, they returned to Katy’s home to finish packing her things up to move. When they arrived Corey took their Labrador puppy, Jake, into the other room so Katy could change clothes. After Katy changed, she opened the door to her room. Jake came running in and jumped on the bed. Katy noticed something odd hanging from his collar. She reached down to find a gorgeous diamond ring. She turned around and Corey was down on one knee. He told her how much he loved her and how he couldn’t live without her, and asked her to marry him. She of course said yes!
