Lindsey Jack & Ethan Landrum
Brookhill Ranch, Hot Springs
Sept. 8, 2012
Lindsey Jack knew fellow Hot Springs native Ethan Landrum through her older brother, but the two had never really talked. One day while in the car, Lindsey thought she recognized the guy driving past. She waved but the stranger ignored her. “About 30 minutes later, I got a text from an unknown number,” Lindsey recalls. “All it said was, ‘I am so sorry I didn’t wave at you! I didn’t realize who it was until I had already passed!’” It turned out to be Ethan, and “we took off from there,” the bride says. “We haven’t stopped texting, calling or laughing with each other since that day.”
Four years later, Ethan proposed in front of their entire church. “I know that no matter what is happening in our lives, he will be right beside me, holding my hand and conquering whatever challenge we might face.”
HOW THEY CUSTOMIZED
The day’s food featured Southern favorites like fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans and cotton candy. Homemade pies organized by the grandmother who made them took the place of a cake and included chocolate, pecan, cream cheese, coconut and apple varieties.
MEMORABLE MOMENT
“The first look was one of our most favorite moments of the entire day,” the bride says. “I would encourage every bride to do a first look. After that point you really don’t get any alone time with your groom, so take that time and enjoy it. The emotions were so raw and to have it all photographed and on video was priceless.”
TOTALLY WORTH IT SPLURGE
The bride’s dress from Low’s Bridal & Formal underwent a transformation as it was “altered, cut, sewed, cut some more and redesigned,” Lindsey says. “I wish I could have worn it longer, but now I can save it for my younger sisters and maybe even a daughter someday.”
