Hot Springs Arkansas Wedding: Catherine Cupp & Kenan Lucas

Hot Springs native Catherine Cupp and San Francisco resident Kenan Lucas might have never met had it not been for Catherine’s close friend and sorority sister’s Independence Day celebration in 2008. As fate would have it, Kenan was one of the event’s participants.

“Kenan and I hit it off and were inseparable all weekend,” Catherine says.

They dated long-distance for the next year until Catherine made the move to San Francisco. Sixteen months later, they tied the knot on Lake Hamilton surrounded by friends and family.

SHINING MOMENT
“The highlight of the day had to be standing out on the end of the boat dock as the sun set with Kenan, reflecting on how blessed we were on that really special day.”

BRIDE’S INSPIRATION
“I loved the look of blue and white china and have always loved chandeliers. The theme quickly became a sort of ‘enchanted garden’ complete with birdcages and trees inside of the tent.”

HOW THEY CUSTOMIZED
Catherine says her mother Mary Anne and wedding planner Delaney Todd Bagwell worked hard to customize every step of the way, including save-the-dates designed to match reception tablecloths and a lace overlay for the wedding cake table inspired by cutwork embroidery on the gown. “Party favors were matchboxes in patterns reminiscent of the blue and white china I love, and amenity boxes for out-of-town guests held Mountain Valley water and bird-shaped pecan shortbread cookies baked from a family recipe by Mother and her friends.”
