I’m ready to say “I do” to these fashionable frocks worn at last night’s Golden Globes awards, each of which could just as easily walk the center aisle as they did the red carpet.
Which of these could-be-bridal gowns were your favorites last night at the Golden Globes? Here are my favorites:
TOP BRIDAL/RED CARPET LOOKS
No. 6 – Shailene Woodley: This Marchesa is incredible and definitely wedding worthy! Super sexy and romantic.
No. 5 – Jessica Chastain: What a fun little Givenchy gown. It has major personality and we can see it on a bride whose wedding is 100 percent infused with her spunky persona and trendy taste.
No. 4 – Charlize Theron: As always, in Dior Haute Couture. I love the headband and the plunging neckline. The half-short half-long aspect makes it hard for me to imagine a real bride wearing it. Still, I love, love, love it!
No. 3 – Kate Beckinsale: As usual, she looked beautiful. Who is her stylist? She’s always on the best dressed list, but she’s never in any good movies. That just seems odd to me. She wore Roberto Cavalli, stunning bracelets and jaw-dropping earrings.
No. 2 – Jessica Biel: I adore newly engaged Jessica Biel’s Ellie Saab gown (although fashion critics seemed to hate it). Don’t you just love the back of it? I only wish I could’ve seen her engagement ring!
No. 1 – Elle MacPherson: Hello Zac Posen! She looked killer. This is a modern bride look and it’s oh-so-amazing.
RUNNER-UPS
- Mary J. Blige: If in a shade of white, her gown would be a gorgeous reception dress.
- Nicole Richie: Her Julien Macdonald gown is liquid silver amazing-ness. Reception appropriate?
- Diane Lane: This Reem Acra gown has a lot of gold in it, but gosh, she looked incredible. And I loved her accessory — er, husband, Josh Brolin. (Yes, I have a crush on him … don’t judge.)
- Busy Phillips: She wore a one-shoulder Temperley London gown in fringe. It was cool. I’m picturing it in a boho-chic ceremony or at a lively reception. PS: I loved her makeup and hair for brides.
- Julie Bowen: OK, so she didn’t look that good in this; it kind of washed her out, but I love Reem Acra everything. This gown is no exception. I know it would look awesome on the right bride.
