Stephen proposed to me on a Saturday, Oct. 19. It was just a typical Saturday for us.  We have been dating for a year and a half now, and with him being in pharmacy school at Harding half way across the state and my demanding work schedule in Fort Smith, we really value our time together.

He was in town for the weekend and was supposed to be picking me up for dinner on what I thought, was just a “normal” Saturday. Stephen showed up at my door, precisely at 5 and of course, I was running behind. I opened the door and was surprised with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. As I was thanking him for the surprise flowers, he was explaining how he wanted to do something nice for me because he knows we’re busy. As I was scrambling around to get vase, he said “I have another surprise for you, too.”  I love surprises, so I anxiously asked what it was. Stephen then proceeded to get down on one knee. He pulled out the ring box, opened it up and asked me If I would marry him as he placed the ring on my finger. Of course, I said yes. It was the sweetest moment ever!
