Sometimes you find yourself at the right place at the right time. That could not be more true for Amber Lawson and Jeff DeKoker who walked into The Red Lion strangers and walked out with their lives forever changed. After meeting and dating long distance, Amber, of Seneca, Missouri, and Jeff, of Springfield, Illinois, are now in Fayetteville together and engaged! We could not be more happy for them or more in love with their engagement photos by Two Carters Photography. The two love birds said “I Do” on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
Here are the details of their story in Amber’s words:
“My mother and I went on a trip to Vail, Colorado. On our second day there, we were told that there was going to be a free Macklemore concert in the courtyard downtown. After the concert, my mother and I stepped into this quaint, little pub called The Red Lion. A few minutes after, Jeff and his friends walked in. I thought he was so handsome. We ended up talking, and it turned out that he was there visiting friends. We hung out a couple of times while we were out there, then exchanged numbers and said our goodbyes. After Vail, we talked a lot. Neither of us could handle not seeing each other anymore, so he invited me up to see him in Springfield, Illinois, where he lived. We made our relationship official that weekend. Jeff and I did that extensive seven-and-a-half-hour drive and the long-distance relationship for about a year and a half until he agreed to move to Fayetteville with me. This was at the end of May 2015. I thought it was the happiest day of my life, but I was wrong. December 26, 2016, was. The day he proposed to me.”
