Lori Halvorson of Tulsa, Okla. and Andy Lambert of Broken Arrow, Okla. are getting married. The groom resides in Fayetteville. They will tie the knot Aug. 18 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fayetteville followed by a reception at Pratt Place Barn.
Here’s their love story:
Andy and Lori were dating for almost a year and a half before Andy popped the big question — although a year and a half seems short compared to the nine years that they have actually known each other. They met at the beginning of high school through their club swimming team in Tulsa and were instantly attracted to each others’ sense of humor, adventurous nature, and common interests. Needless to say, they became best friends right from the start.
While swimming took Lori to Mizzou and academia took Andy to the University of Arkansas, their friendship kept them in touch through their college years. It wasn’t until after college that their paths crossed again when Lori’s parents moved to Fayetteville where Andy was living and working. While Lori lived in New York for her first year of graduate school, she only needed to take one visit back to Arkansas for her and Andy to recognize the incredibly unique and caring friendship they have always shared. Soon after, their friendship turned into a whirlwind romance that has had them smiling and laughing for the last year and a half!
