Destiny and Roelf met through mutual friends during their junior year at Arkansas State University. They became friends but officially started dating during graduate school a few years later. Their first date consisted of Roelf running a red light and the couple watching the movie “It” together. Destiny was not easily scared away.
Roelf popped the question on their vacation in Hawaii. “He set up different stops along the beach with notes in a bottle. Each bottle included a note with a reason why he wanted to marry me. The final stop included champagne and the most beautiful ring! It was a day I will never forget!”
They plan to tie the knot on August 22, 2020, at the First United Methodist Church.
