Confessions of a Real Arkansas Bride: Meet Miss Westbrook (Our Former Bride Intern is Getting Married!)

After completing my internship for Arkansas Bride last May, I had no idea what was to come next in my life. And when I say I had no idea, I literally didn’t have a clue. One thing I was sure of though, was my relationship with my boyfriend of three years (at the time).

It’s been 10 months since my internship ended, and my boyfriend turned into my future husband. We became engaged in December and I could not be more excited to begin our lives together! However, even though I spent three months equipping brides with the tips and references they would need as they planned their special days, I’ve come across several things I’ve taken my own advice on, and a few things I haven’t.

One thing I promised myself prior to being engaged was that I would keep in mind the most important part of the wedding: at the end of the day, no matter how horribly wrong or absolutely perfect the day went, the only thing that truly matters is being married to my best friend. So far, I can say that I have stayed true to my oath. The planning process has been smooth, BUT I’m only two months in. Not everything can be this easy, right?

I’ll be here each week giving you updates on my October wedding, while also giving you tips on how I made things easier, as well as the things I wish I would have done differently. I’ll share the things I’m loving right now, my experiences, my inspirations and everything in between.

Keep an eye out for next week’s blog entry where I’m telling all about how I almost ruined my own engagement!

Oh, and in case you’re wondering, my hubby-to-be is also named Jordan. Yep, you read that right, we will have the same first and last name!

 – Jordan

Bride-to-be and Benton native Jordan Westbrook graduated from UALR in 2011 with a liberal arts degree with an emphasis in mass media. The former Arkansas Bride intern will be blogging about her adventures in wedding planning right here each week.
