It was a chilly night at Hope native’s Colby Powell’s family cabin when he talked Anna Carter of Stuttgart into checking all of his outdoor deer cameras for signs of big game. She obliged in full, oversized camouflage attire, a messy bun and no makeup. Then he asked her to go through photos on his iPad, looking for more deer. She started flipping through and there was a picture of Colby on one knee with a ring and a handmade sign reading, “Will you marry me.” Anna definitely snagged the biggest game that night!
The Inspiration
Anna knew she wanted something different from the ball gown, princess weddings she’d seen, so she went for a “Southern vintage boho” vibe instead. She wanted the décor to have a breezy, carefree feel, so she asked Zimmerman to create foraged-style bouquets and other boho florals to bring that essence across. The floral and other décor were done in shades of blush, ivory, cream and navy.
The Details
The Powell wedding had a very personal touch. Anna’s mother prepared homemade peach, strawberry and pear jellies and jams for the guests. The bride made her own headpiece. And to shake things up, Anna and her father danced to "Sweet Child O’ Mine" for their special dance!
