Every Tuesday at 10 a.m., I’m a bridal blogger for Arkansas Bride magazine. But every other day of the week at every other hour, I’m the editor of Arkansas Green Guide, an Arkansas Business Publishing Group magazine dedicated to helping Arkansans lead greener, more sustainable lives.
As the editor of such a magazine, I’ve been itching to do a green wedding post for quite some time. So when three green wedding planning books arrived on my desk, I was ecstatic and couldn’t wait to share some of these awesome eco-friendly ideas with you.
In Eco-Chic Weddings by Emily Elizabeth Anderson, the author teaches brides how to implement the principles of reducing, reusing and recycling into every aspect of the planning process from choosing flowers and design to picking wedding favors and transportation. The book is overflowing with tips and sources to help brides host an eco-friendly wedding.
The Everything Green Wedding Book by Wenona Napolitano helps brides plan an “elegant, affordable, earth-friendly wedding” in 20 chapters, covering everything from eco-friendly wedding jewelry and invites to great green honeymoons. There’s even a section for how to live green after the honeymoon’s over, as well as an extensive green wedding resource guide.
Green Wedding by Mireya Navarro is one of my favorites. It’s the only hardback book of the three, and is full of great green advice for wedding planning and beautiful pictures to give you visuals of some of the best ideas. The green wedding resource guide in this book is extensive and helpful.
We’re giving away a copy of each of these green wedding books! To enter for your chance to win, like Arkansas Bride’s Facebook page and write, “I want to plan a green wedding,” on our wall. We’ll choose one winner and announce her name in next Tuesday’s blog post. For more tips on living a green lifestyle, like Arkansas Green Guide’s Facebook page as well.
Good luck, ladies! ‘Til next week …
UPDATE: We couldn’t pick just one winner! Carrie Davis is the winner of “Eco-Chic Weddings” and “The Everything Green Wedding Book,” and Jordan Neigler is the winner of “Green Wedding!” Congrats, ladies! Email Amorgan@abpg.com to claim your prizes.
