Heather Loop of Mountainburg and Philip Firth of Oklahoma City, Okla. are engaged to marry Sept. 22 at Heather’s grandparents’ home in Mountainburg.
Heather and Philip met in high school, even though Heather had been living in Mountainburg all of her life and Philip since the seventh grade. They became friends as Philip was a senior and talked about his plans of going to Oklahoma State University. After Philip’s graduation, Heather and Philip went on their first date and immediately knew there was something special. Little did they know that soon Philip’s college plans would be changing in order to stay close to his family and Heather while she finished high school. He attended University of Arkansas-Fort Smith until Heather graduated from high school. Then they both moved to Fayetteville to attend the University of Arkansas where they would both earn degrees.
Heather and Philip have now been together for over six years. Last year, Philip popped the question on the beach during a spring break trip to Panama City Beach, Fla.
