Hayley Berry and Chad Taylor are getting married. The couple plans to wed Oct. 6 at the Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock.
Hayley and Chad starting dating the last semester of high school, but managed to get through college being in different states. They dated for eight years before Chad proposed. Their story has lots of memories, so we’ll just let the bride tell you the rest:
I can honestly say I had no idea he was going to propose. We had planned a family vacation to Las Vegas which included my grandparents. We were all very excited to go! When we got on the plane I could tell that Chad was acting really weird and I thought maybe he was nervous about the plane ride (but that was odd since he had flown before). I ignored it and just kept reading my book. Later on, I looked over to check on him and he was drenched in sweat. I asked him if he was OK and he said he ‘was fine, just hot.’ I felt really bad for him and thought maybe he [was running fever]. We finally landed and had taken a limo with my whole family to the New York, New York [Hotel and Casino]. The entire limo ride Chad didn’t say a word which was weird because he always has something to say. I thought he must be really sick or something. We checked into the hotel and as soon as we walked into our room with the luggage he immediately asked me to marry him. I started laughing because it all made sense now. I, of course, said yes and couldn’t wait to tell everyone about it.
Hayley later found out that Chad had an elaborate plan, which he told her friends about, to take her on a helicopter and go to the Grand Canyon. “I find it amusing now because there is no way he could have waited any longer!” Hayley said.
