Emily Sansom and Jordan Taylor are engaged to be married. The couple will tie the knot Aug. 4 at Harding University.
Here’s their love story, as written by Emily:
Mutual friends knew Jordan and [I] were a perfect match, so they set up a blind date. After two years of falling in love, a future without each other was unfathomable. [I] knew a ring was on the horizon, but Jordan wanted the proposal to be a surprise that swept [me] off [my] feet. [My] birthday or New Year’s were too predictable, so on an inconspicuous evening over Christmas break, he took [me] down to the barn (where [we] first held hands) to feed the horses. [I] had no idea that Jordan had spent hours in the barn loft stringing lights from the rafters and building a cove of hay bales sprinkled with rose petals and snapshots of [our] memories. As [I] climbed up into the loft, Jordan got down on one knee, popped the question, and [I] said yes!
