Chelsea Smith of North Little Rock and Matthew Presson of Sherwood are set to say “I do” Sept. 21 at Park Hill Baptist Church in North Little Rock. The bride sent in these shots by Danielle Davis Art/Photography — as well as the couple’s love story in Chelsea’s own words.
We have known each other through mutual friends since high school. Even though I went to one high school and Matthew another, we’ve dated on and off since the 10th grade. In 2007, we decided to make it official!
We made it through three years of long distance during college, with me attending the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville studying nursing and Matthew playing baseball and studying to become a physical education and health teacher at Arkansas Tech in Russellville.
In October 2012, we traveled to Knoxville, Tenn. to my favorite place on earth — my great uncle’s farm. We were there for three days which included riding horses, enjoying the Smoky Mountains and Matthew meeting my extended family for the very first time. Matt took me up to my favorite spot on the farm that overlooks the highest point in Knox County. After asking for my dad’s blessing, he surprised me by getting down on one knee and asking me to marry him. Of course I happily said yes. I am so happy and excited to finally be engaged to my best friend!
