Arkansas Bride By the Numbers: Why it Pays to Submit Your Wedding Photos

Much to the chagrin of my husband, I spent a few hours on my vacation last week doing a little number-crunching for work.

I was wondering how to really drive home the point of submitting to Arkansas Bride. We get a lot wonderful submissions every issue, but I know there is so much more out there, and so many who don’t know how to or that they can simply just submit at their whim!

It’s fairly obvious that the payoff is an opportunity to have your wedding details or wedding photography skills shown off to brides, wedding professionals and wedding lovers alike across the state (80,000+ annually just about). Those photos of yours we use are not only shown off free of charge in print but also in the digital edition and online (and is then shared via our many social media outlets in a variety of ways – multiple times in a given year).

But what many people think or assume is that they don’t know how, or that they didn’t think they had a chance to be selected. So I did the math…

…and these numbers illustrate my point:

172 – The total number of photos taken by Arkansas wedding photographers featured in the new issue.
37 – The number of different Arkansas photographers who took those 172 photos of Real Arkansas wedding details.
4.6 – The average number of photos by each photographer

Oh, and I can’t forget …

75 – That’s the number of different brides’ weddings featured within those 172 photos

Keep in mind that the Real Weddings throw off the numbers slightly. For instance, one of those 75 brides is a bride whose weddings was selected as a Real Wedding, therefore she and her photographer had more than 4.6 photos featured.

And that’s just in print. Online, we posted 10+ extra photos that we were able to print in the Real Weddings. So that puts us over the 200 mark for real Arkansas wedding details showcased this issue – and a similar amount in the last isuse and the issues coming in the future.

I find this exciting! Don’t you?

I hope it motivates you to be sure to submit year-round. There’s no reason why that 37 photographers number can’t be 75 and the number of brides’ wedding photos used should be closer to 100! We have plenty of room for more of you and photographers’ work, you just have to send it in.

The deadline for submissions for the next issue, by the way, is in early September. That’ll be here before you know it. So start planning ahead what you’ll want to share, or send it in now. It’s never to early.

Got questions, feel free to email us questions at Info@ArkansasBride.com or visit our SUBMIT tab to learn more.

Can’t wait to feature more and more of your weddings and work!

XO,

Lindsay
