Ashley Cameron and Brian Evans of Alma are engaged to be married! They’ve set their date for June 8 at St. Boniface.
Brian proposed after Ashley came home from her first year of pharmacy school. We’ll let her tell the rest:
“As soon as finals concluded, I rushed home to begin my summer with Brian, who lives two hours away. We decided to go have a night out on the town to celebrate finishing my first year. Brian picked me up at my house, then told me he forgot his wallet and needed to run home to retrieve it. When we arrived at his house, he had dinner from my favorite restaurant set up outside. He told me this was my gift for getting through such a tough year of school. As we were eating, he told me to open up the fortune cookie that was sitting on our table. I opened up the cookie and read the fortune, ‘Ashley, will you marry me?’ I looked over at Brian and saw him down on one knee. I said yes! We hugged and he then pointed to the bushes around us. He had our friends hiding everywhere with cameras so they could capture the proposal. I can’t wait to marry my best friend!”
