On your wedding day, you want to be surrounded by those you love most: your spouse, family, friends and, of course, your fur babies. So, how can you incorporate your beloved pets into your big day? From ring bearers to doggie-themed party favors, Chris Norwood, AIFD, vice president at Tipton & Hurst, is sharing his expert tips to help you throw a memorable paw-ty.
CREATE FLORAL COLLARS
Want to make your fur babies ring bearers, dogs of honor or (grooms)man’s best friends? Dress them up in a color-coordinating fresh or silk floral collars that will withstand rolling, shaking, rough housing and fawning from attendees. Check out Chris’s step-by-step tutorial on how to create floral collars at home.
ADORN THE LEASHES
Worried your pets might be runaway bridesmaids or groomsmen? Outfit their leashes with flowers that match the bouquets and boutonnieres. Minimize distractions (and sniffing) along the aisle and at the altar by using faux florals, greenery and ribbons.
TAKE PAW-SOME PHOTOS

Unfortunately, pets aren’t always allowed in indoor venues. But they can still be a part of the celebrations by joining you for engagement photos, bridal portraits or as inspiration for your invitations, cocktail napkins and signature drink menus.
MAKE FETCHING PARTY FAVORS
Treat your guests to pet-themed party favors, including doggie bags filled with your favorite snacks or desserts. Or, add their likenesses to non-food items, such as COVID-19-friendly “Wash Your Paws” hand sanitizer.
No matter how you choose to incorporate your fur babies, make sure to “paws and reflect” on the joy of your big day. For additional wedding décor inspiration, follow Tipton & Hurst on Instagram and Facebook!
