A Cool Waterproof Camera That’s Perfect for Honeymoons

Honeymoon story time!

Michael and I went to the Big Island of Hawaii, where we took part in a number of water activities (aside from a lot of time on the beach and poolside). A snorkel cruise made our itinerary; and it was amazing. We began the day with breakfast aboard a beautiful boat and sailed the turqouise waters until we reached an obscure snorkeling spot with a lava cave. Dolphins swam nearby and whales breached in the distance (it was late April and a few of the whales were running late in their trek home to Alaska). Anyway, we made sure to buy an underwater camera to take pictures while we were there. It was expensive, but in the end, worth every penny.

As our last honeymoon hoorah, we went scuba diving. That’s when the camera really paid for itself! The sea life was incredible down 50 feet below the waterline – and the pictures we took were incredible too. I’m so glad we forked over the cash for that camera (although we haven’t used in the three years since…eek)!

So, if your honeymoon plans include water, I suggest you consider an underwater camera. The one we bought could be removed from it’s protective casing and used as a normal camera, but this one we just learned about – SeaLife Adventureproof Mini II camera – is even cooler. It already looks like a normal point-and-shoot camera, but it’s actually waterproof down to a depth of up to 130 feet. It’s also rugged enough to withstand the worst you can throw at it (including being run over by a car!). At least that’s what the camera company claims. I don’t suggest testing that theory.

The best feature about this camera, however, is that it can shoot underwater video! How cool is that?! Meanwhile, you’ll be snapping 9-megapixel underwater pics while you’re snorkeling, scuba diving, swimming witht the dolphins – or whatever water adventures await.

It retails for $259.95 and comes with a one-year limited warranty. Learn more at SeaLife’s website.

Happy honeymoonin’!
