Fall Winter 2026 Issue Out Now: Center Stage

I often find inspiration in real-life experiences and things that move me for every issue of Arkansas Bride. The idea for this particular issue occurred to me in October 2025. My husband and I are enormous fans of live performances, so when Mandy Richardson offered me two tickets to see Ballet Arkansas’ performance of “Sleepy Hollow” at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, I instantly accepted. As soon as the lights went down, the music began and the dancers took the stage, I was instantly transported into the story being told. It was an incredible experience, and I realized every scene and costume held immense inspiration for our brides.

The mesmerizing spectacle of the stage performance, with its delicate costumes and graceful, hyper-feminine choreography, was made all the more captivating by the stark contrast of the haunting, hand-painted backdrops and the narrative unfolding. I also love that no matter what is happening on stage, your eyes never leave the lead. It struck me that there’s a profound resemblance between the intricate details of a theatrical production and the events of a wedding day.

Wedding days are a blend of profound emotions, marked by countless small but meaningful moments. Nerves and anticipation mingle with the melancholy of honoring passed loved ones and reflecting on a new chapter of life. These moments, such as a first look with a parent, seeing your partner walk down the aisle, a toast with siblings or a quiet memorial, all contribute to the overall dynamics and joy of the occasion.

Ballet, like life, presents a tapestry of shared narratives, where moments of joy mingle with the poignant realization that a new page in life is turning. What draws our team to the real weddings we feature is not always the beautiful details of a wedding reception or the extravagance of the day, but the narrative unfolding in the images we see. I want to push you to not only get inspired by the images you see in the Real Weddings we feature, but also by their stories being told.

I also want to encourage you to find what means the most to you, and find inspiration for your wedding day in every aspect of life. I implore you to embed what inspires you in every detail of your wedding day. It’s all about you, after all, and you are taking center stage that day. Make it count, and break a leg!
