4 Ways to Make Your Honeymoon Part of Your Wedding

Some couples can’t wait for the wedding. Others are more excited about the honeymoon. Let your guests share in the getaway fun (without bringing them along.) Here are four easy ways to incorporate your honeymoon into your wedding!

Send A Postcard

Don’t send just any old save-the-date! If you’re the type who had your honeymoon planned before your wedding (we feel you), send guests postcards themed around the location you plan to visit, or around travel in general. Bonus: by sending them an unusual save-the-date, you’ll ensure that your card stays on their fridge and in their minds, so they’re sure to RSVP “Heck yes!” when the time comes.

Don’t Stop There

If you’re really a travel buff, go with a more international theme for your wedding. Instead of a guest book, hang up a map where guests can mark where they’re from or where they went on their honeymoons! You could also decorate with vintage suitcases and antique globes. Or, if you’re going to a tropical location, include the palm fronds and bright colors into your theme, like Arkansas bride Laura Bryan.

Make a Honeyfund

If you and your honey don’t need anything but money (for this trip), consider asking guests to contribute to your getaway. Maybe you already own a ton of pots and pans and don’t want to have a registry. If so, start a honeyfund instead, so guests can help you with what you really want (a trip to Italy) instead of what you don’t (another stockpot).

Change Up the Guestbook

Instead of just a book, have a map as your guestbook. This is perfect if one of you is from the place you’re visiting, or even if it’s just a place that is really important to you. Need inspiration? Check out how Rebecca Hedges and Zachary Noonan did it in their wedding.
