In 1991, Olivia Farrell—the owner of Arkansas Business Publishing Group—decided to fill a noticeable void in Arkansas’ wedding industry. There was no curated list of trusted wedding professionals for brides to call upon nor a place for them to seek advice from experts and glean ideas for their own big days. Brides needed a resource—a place to be inspired.
Olivia launched Arkansas Bride that year, and it was an immediate hit (the first issue was 132 pages!). In 1999, Arkansas Bride’s team continued efforts to make life easier for Natural State brides by launching a website on the burgeoning Internet, and in 2011, we debuted our blog. It’s become a place where brides can land daily for a little bit of inspiration and advice.
A quarter of a century and 38 issues later, both the print edition and website have grown, but our mission has never changed. Arkansas Bride is the only magazine in the state that provides brides more than 50 pages of reputable vendor recommendations—700 wedding pros who we vet and survey so you don’t have to.
To celebrate our 25th year—our silver anniversary—I wanted to do something extra special. In the spirit of being the enduring source for local brides, I am proud to present our new logo and an accompanying classic feel to the magazine. I wanted the new look to be timeless—as timeless as our mission to you is.
The new issue of Arkansas Bride is available now at newsstands and wedding vendors (see list of locations here) and is also ready for purchase in our online store or available for free online in a digital edition.
Thanks to all our amazing contributors who helped make this issue unforgettable. We hope you love the new look and feel, and I hope you enjoy celebrating our “silver” throughout this, our biggest issue ever, and on ArkansasBride.com in 2016.
