11 Months to Go: Hire a Photographer

Hire a photographer!

Truth time, brides. It is our expert opinion that you should choose your photographer before setting a firm wedding date. And we strongly suggest cross referencing the availability of your venue(s) with the availability of your desired photographer before locking down a date.

It can’t always be done this way, but it’s your best chance for scoring your first-choice photographer.

If you haven’t done so already, this is the month to book a photographer — the vendor Arkansas brides say they’re most apt to splurge on (or regret not spending enough on), according to our recent poll. Consider the following questions as you begin your photographer search:

  1. How important is photography to you?
  2. How much are you willing to spend?
  3. How much photography do you want?
  4. Whose photography are you obsessing over on Instagram, Pinterest and in our magazine? ← These pros tend to be the first to book up, y’all!

  5. Is the photographer’s personality compatible with you/your groom?
  6. Film, digital or both?
