This is arguably the most important wedding choice you’ll make (after choosing your groom, of course). Finding the right photographer is essential to avoding post-nuptial distress. The pros know the best lighting and poses, as well as have the experience to know what photos you’ll want to frame later and look at years from now. Your cousin with a camera does not.
If we can give you just one peice of advice, it’s this: Don’t ask your so-called “photographer” friend to shoot the most important day of your life. That is, unless they just so happen to be a real photographer or are on our list of Arkansas’ best photographers.
Here are some other things to do before choosing your photographer:
- Ask these important questions.
- Inquire about their camera technology.
- See their work online in our gallery of bridal portraits and wedding day moments.
- Peruse their pictures in our Photographer Favorites section.
- See the kind of work they do at Real Weddings in Arkansas.
- Find out about their album service (photo book or traditional album?).
- Consider videography.
More things to do this month (if you haven’t already):
- Announce your engagement.
- Send an engagement photo (or two), along with your names and hometowns, and wedding date and venues to Info@ArkansasBride.com. We’ll post it on our blog! Please include the photographer’s business name.
- Set a date (and time).
- Make a budget.
- Reserve your ceremony and reception venues.
- Hire a wedding coordinator, if desired.
- Ask your bridesmaids and groomsmen to be a part of your special day.
- Start researching honeymoon destinations – booking far in advance can save you a lot of money.
- Follow our blog for daily inspiration and ideas, advice from real brides and the pros, and much more!
