SARA AURENTHIA LEWIS & TREVOR DELLIS

Oct. 28, 2023 | The Reserve at Hot Springs | Hot Springs | Erin Wilson Photography & Videography

Sara and Trevor met through friends at the beginning of COVID-19 when the outbreak had shut everything down. They immediately hit it off over a shared interest in gaming.

“We were filled with excitement and a shared purpose as we looked towards the future,” Sara said. “Collaborating on plans and dreams, we realized we were stronger together, ready to take on whatever life had in store as a united front.”

Sara and Trevor planned a “Lord of the Rings”-inspired rehearsal dinner. Due to their mutual love for the trilogy, they wanted nothing more than to feel whisked away into the fantastical world of “Lord of the Rings” during their wedding weekend.

“Seeing everyone fully immerse themselves in the theme, donning elaborate costumes inspired by the beloved fantasy world, was an absolute blast,” Sara said. “It was an unforgettable prelude to the wedding festivities, setting the stage for a magical weekend filled with love and cherished memories.”

Q & A

Q: Was there a special detail from your decor that sticks out to you the most?

A: “One of the details that truly stole our hearts was the transparent tent that became the site of our wedding ceremony and reception,” Sara said. “As luck would have it, our special day coincided with a rainy forecast, but instead of dampening our spirits, the transparent tent only enhanced the beauty of our celebration.”

Q: What personalizations did you plan for the wedding day?

A: “Among the standout personalized touches were the exquisite glass-plated lanterns adorned with intricately laser-cut ‘Lord of the Rings’ symbols. These stunning lanterns added a touch of magic and whimsy to our decor, perfectly capturing the essence of our theme. Our family friend Kyle spent a lot of time and effort crafting them.”

“We commissioned a talented artist to create a watercolor crest that adorned various elements of our wedding day, from cocktail napkins and the ring bearer's pillow to invitations, seamlessly tying together the aesthetic.”

Q: Tell us about searching for your wedding gown.

A: “I envisioned myself adorned in a whimsical dress reminiscent of an elf from ‘Lord of the Rings,’” Sara said. “However, with the invaluable guidance of my mother, sister, and head bridesmaid, my bridal vision evolved into something more refined and structured. To elevate the ensemble, we adorned [my dress] with a stunning leaf-like crown, seamlessly weaving it into the overarching theme of our wedding.”

FAMILY HISTORY IN HOT SPRINGS

“Learning that the venue was where my mother and her husband had exchanged vows before its renovation sparked an instant connection for me,” Sara said. “It felt like a beautiful continuation of family tradition and history, making it the natural choice for our wedding.”

REMINISCENT OF RIVENDELL

“In a nod to our love for the ‘Lord of the Rings,’ the groomsmen wore the Leaf of Lothlorien instead of traditional boutonnieres, and my bridesmaids carried lanterns.”
