ELIZABETH CLAIRE MIN & KEVEN ALFREDO CAPACHO

August 5, 2022 | 21C Museum Hotel | Bentonville | The Villar Photo Co.

Elizabeth and Keven met through mutual friends at a movie theater in December 2018. Elizabeth said Keven made a horrible first impression by showing up late and eating all of her popcorn. He later redeemed himself with his sweet, genuine personality and funny sense of humor.

Keven proposed on Lake Atalanta in late November, and it was a total surprise. Elizabeth’s best friend had been begging her to book a friendship photoshoot with her for months, and they were finally doing it—or so she thought! As they were walking towards the proposal, Elizabeth turned to her best friend and said, “Look! Someone is getting proposed to,” having no idea it was her. She finally reached Keven; he took her to the middle of the dock, got down on one knee and popped the question!

Q & A

Q: How did you customize your wedding?

A: “I customized my wedding by wearing three dresses,” Elizabeth said. “I especially incorporated a traditional Korean dress. It was a gift from a close friend who brought it all the way from Seoul, South Korea. It was even more special because my grandmother wore a Hanbok as well and matched me.”

Q: What are some wedding traditions you incorporated into your big day?

A: “I wore a Hanbok, a traditional Korean dress, that gave a nod to my Korean heritage,” Elizabeth said. “One of the things that made our wedding unique was the mix [of] cultures. I am half Korean and Puerto Rican, and my husband is Salvadorian.”

Q: What details from your favorite fairy tale did you include in your wedding?

A: “‘Beauty and the Beast’ is my favorite fictional fairytale,” Elizabeth said. “My first wedding dress down the aisle expressed this inspiration. The off-the-shoulder sleeve detail on my dress was one detail that added ‘Beauty’ to my dress.”

Q: What was your favorite moment of the wedding day?

A: “The first look. It was such an indescribable special moment for the both of us. This was Keven’s favorite moment, too!”

Q: What is your secret to wedding planning success?

A: “The moment I was ready to plan the big day, I made a checklist of all the tasks that should be completed on a month-to-month basis. The list was curated from my own personal experiences and other lists from research on Pinterest.”

PRECIOUS PETALS

“My florals were inspired by my father-in-law,” Elizabeth said. “[He] loves to garden and had multiple orchids that he was caring for that he would always show my husband and me.”
