JULIA ROGERS & CALEB FINNEY

August 5, 2023 | Walton Arts Center | Fayetteville | Emma Farr Photography

Julia and Caleb are high school sweethearts! They’ve known one another since the sixth grade, and officially started dating in ninth grade.

“We had been through almost every stage of childhood together and experienced the big change of independence in college and after that I knew we would enjoy spending the rest of our lives together,” Julia said.

Caleb’s proposal was a total surprise to Julia! He was visiting her in Northwest Arkansas for the weekend and the two were going to meet his family at Sassafras Springs Vineyard. The two made a pit stop at an old wedding venue where Julia had always dreamed of getting married, but it was turned into a private home before the two were engaged. Caleb pulled up to the house and the two walked around out back to find his proposal set up!

Q & A

Q: What inspired your color palette?

A: “Right before I got engaged, I remember seeing a June 2022 wedding all over Pinterest that was at the New York Public Library,” Julia said. “It was a classic black and white wedding with white flowers and lots of candles. From that point on, I knew that’s what I wanted.”

Q: What was your favorite moment of the day?

A: “As everyone was outside waiting for us to leave, we danced to ‘Better Together’ by Luke Combs and talked about how amazing our wedding day was,” Julia said. “It was so sweet to have those few minutes together to talk about the evening before we left the reception.”

Q: What is your secret to wedding planning success?

A: “Having an awesome and creative wedding planner,” Julia said. “I had Taylor Hight from Amanda Reed Weddings as my planner, and I could not have done any of it without her. She made my vision come to life!”

Q: What personalizations did you plan for the wedding day?

A: “I had my grandmother’s bow from her wedding dress wrapped around my bouquet,” Julia said. “On the wedding day, I gifted my mom and sister rings which had three diamonds on them which represented the three of us.”

SORORITY SISTERS

“I was a Pi Phi at the University of Arkansas, so we had to have light-up halo headbands for the dance floor,” Julia said.
