Nell Holleman & Kellen Davis
August 4, 2019
Hamp Williams Building, Hot Springs

Nell Holleman and Kellen Davis met during the second week of their freshman year of college. Nell went over to her friend’s dorm and Kellen just happened to be his roommate. The two hit it off as friends before deciding to make it official.

Kellen popped the question during a yearly trip to Silver Dollar City at Christmastime to see the theme park lit up with incredible light displays. At one point Kellen told Nell that they should get a photo together before it got too dark, which Nell thought was odd at the time because he never asks for pictures. They had a stranger take their photo, which was when Kellen dropped down on one knee.

Nell was in the middle of graduate school during their wedding planning process and with her family living in Florida, she had to do a lot of long-distance planning over the phone. She enlisted the help of wedding planning extraordinaire Randi Slick, who helped point her in the right direction of reputable vendors and made what could have been a stressful time a breeze.

THE INSPIRATION

COLOR STORY

The couple’s overall vision was to have a natural, airy and organic day. Nell chose a soft baby blue as an accent color among the greys, whites and greenery of her flowers and decor.

One of the couple’s best friends opened his own floral shop in Jonesboro and he helped make Nell’s organic floral arrangements and her bouquet filled with eucalyptus, white roses, baby’s breath and pops of blue.

HOW THEY CUSTOMIZED

Nell and Kellen kept the ceremony space simple and let the rock walls of Hamp Williams and the natural light shine. The couple built their own ceremony arch with white curtains and imitation greenery that hung down above them as they said their I Dos. At the reception, there was a wood table for the wedding party with greenery trailing down the length of the table. Their florist tied in blue flowers and added some to the cake table, to tie the color story together.

As for Nell’s favorite moments from the big day, she says it was the little in between moments where it was just her and Kellen soaking in the day and remembering the reason for the occasion.
