Amber Mayo of Huntington, W. Va. and Tyler Terry of Searcy are engaged to be married May 24, 2014 at the Castle on Stagecoach in Little Rock.

Tyler had been planning the proposal for over two months. He knew I wasn't going to be able to attend my college senior social club formal and that I was disappointed about it, so he decided to throw me one of my own. That Saturday, he woke me up early and told me he had a surprise. As we were driving to Little Rock, he began to tell me his plan for my formal and that he was taking me to buy a red dress (the tradition is for seniors to wear red at the formal). After buying me a new dress and shoes, Tyler took me back to my apartment where two of my friends were waiting to help me get ready. That evening Tyler picked me up and drove me to his house where he and his family had set up a tent and table with lights and flowers everywhere in the backyard. After dinner, we came inside to get dessert. I wanted to stay inside to eat my cupcake because it was cold but Tyler's parents were adamant that I go back outside. I opened the back door with my cupcake in hand and Tyler was kneeling on the patio with a little black box. He proposed with a yellow pear-shaped diamond ring and of course, I said yes! It was all so thoughtful and special. So many people helped and so much time was spent planning. I couldn't have asked for anything better.
