When Shelby was 13, she told her mom "I want to date Grant Pickle when I get to high school." Word travels fast when attending a private Christian high school, so by the end of the semester, Grant had texted Shelby and the rest is history. They have been together ever since, and have watched one another grow through those awkward teenage years and into young adulthood.

"Grant and I are super lucky to have families who have been able to create relationships over the past seven years," Shelby said. "Grant has been like a son to my parents and I have been like a daughter to Grant's parents."

Grant and Shelby were meant to celebrate their big day with all of their friends and family on June 6, 2020, but due to COVID-19, their plans had to change. The couple decided to tie the knot with a more private ceremony with family on their original date.

"It’s definitely tricky to plan a wedding with everything closed down and with so much uncertainty," Shelby said. "But Anne Claire Allen and Kati Mallory have gone above and beyond to make all our wedding dreams come true and bring God's plan He’s had for us all along to fruition."

They plan to host a reception with friends and family on October 31st at Legacy Acres in Little Rock.
