Sydney Baggett & John Fitch
June 21, 2019 / Centerton
Kindred North

Texas natives Sydney Baggett and John Fitch began dating in 2011. The two both attended the same college and decided to set down roots in northwest Arkansas after they graduated. “John has been my best friend and the closest person to me for the last seven and a half years,” Sydney says.

John popped the question on Oct. 19, 2018. The two had lunch together and had plans to visit Sassafras Winery & Vineyard to soak up the fall weather. When they got to Sassafras, they walked around the chapel while it was raining. John led Sydney outside and then got down on one knee. After, the couple’s friends surprised them and the next day they celebrated at a surprise party with family and friends.

THE INSPIRATION

COLOR STORY

Sydney’s vision for her big day was an intimate garden wedding with pops of color and a few bohemian touches. Kindred North’s white walls helped the bright wedding florals pop. When meeting with Zuzu’s Petals & Gifts, Sydney chose round, fluffy flowers in a rainbow of colors.

The couple kept is simple for the ceremony décor. The main focus of the ceremony was the hanging wreath above the couple in Kindred North. Zuzu’s added cascading greenery to hang down from the wreath to make the effect more dramatic and greenery lined the aisle, as well.

HOW THEY CUSTOMIZED

Sydney’s goal for the reception was for guests to have fun. There were outdoor lawn games, a Pure Joy ice cream stand and relaxed, casual seating. The couple’s cake three-tier cake was from Rick’s Bakery and a “Best Day Ever” cake topper was placed on top. John’s cake was a cookie cake with frosting in-between layers with vintage pennants from his favorite sports teams on top.

As for Sydney’s advice for future brides: Hire a planner. “Maddie made the process so easy, there were not many moments of stress thanks to her and all of her hard work,” she says. “I would also tell them to try and not stress too much, at the end of the day the most important part is that you are married and get to begin your life together as husband and wife.”
