Madison Cole & Tyler Morris
June 9, 2018 • Paron
Cold Springs

We’ve all heard of high school sweethearts, but Madison Cole and Tyler Morris’ story started well before that — middle school, to be exact. The two grew up in Conway and went to school together through their senior year of high school. Although they saw each other frequently in the halls, they didn’t interact much. Luckily, fate had its way, and the two reconnected in college during their junior year at the University of Arkansas.

THE INSPIRATION

Madison’s wedding theme was inspired by her travel experiences in the Mediterranean. She loved the colorful bougainvillea growing off the walls on almost every street and the combination of pottery and iron that created a romantic, Old-World feel.

COLOR STORY

“I had so much fun coming up with ideas for floral, decorations and the overall wedding because it was inspired by some of the most beautiful places I have ever been,” Madison says. “And bringing a little bit of that here to Arkansas was unique and memorable.”

The couple set the tone for their wedding with lovely stationery details. One of Madison’s bridesmaids painted flowers and greenery for Hobart Print Studio to use throughout the invitation suite, and the blue shibori-patterned envelope liner coordinated with the shibori table linens guests would later see at the reception.

HOW THEY CUSTOMIZED

Madison didn’t shy away from bright, rich hues and the result was stunningly unique. To contrast the fuschia and pinks in the floral arrangements, Madison decided on a deep cerulean blue for her bridesmaids’ dresses. “I also gave them each a gold bangle that had a specific latitude and longitude location on it of a specific place that meant something special to our friendship,” she says.

Instead of a full cocktail hour, Madison and Tyler had a 30-minute period after the ceremony where guests were free to visit the Airstream Globetrotter bar and Le Pops stand. The bar featured three options: Her choice–Chardonnay from France; his choice–Love Honey Bock from Lost Forty Brewing in Little Rock; and a signature drink–Ruby Red Sangria.

Since food is such an important part of the Mediterranean culture, Madison chose to make food one of the focal points of the reception. The two tapas lines sat below hanging bread loaves and iron chandeliers. In the center, a four-layer cake was decorated with olive branches and kumquats, and behind it was a wooden hutch with floral arrangements and candles.

In addition to floral design, Tanarah Haynie, owner of Tanarah Luxe Floral, sourced the unique pottery featured throughout the wedding. The cherry on top of the décor was a 12-foot-by-12-foot light installation with hanging greenery and fuchsia bougainvillea. “This was by far my favorite because it created such a fun environment for the dance floor,” Madison says.
